Joanna Albertson, BHS. C.A.S.A.C. has worked in the field of substance abuse treatment for 17 years. She worked for sixteen years at the Saratoga County Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Service and has extensive experience treating alcohol and drug dependent persons and their families.
David Mathis retired as a police investigator after a 32 year career. He was formerly the director of the Crime Prevention Unit of the Saratoga Springs Police Department where he developed many programs including a rape prevention program for Skidmore College. For the last 18 years of his police career he was an investigator with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. For the last 15 years, he has frequently taught at the Police Academy where he wrote and taught the body language program as well as being a certified defensive tactics instructor.
Mr. Mathis has a certificate in Community Crime Prevention Planning from the National Crime Prevention Institute, a BS in Criminal Justice, and an MS in Industrial Safety.
He now works as a course developer and teaches Criminal Justice for Empire State College, and substitute teaches 7th and 8th grade science, earth science, and social studies for local public schools.
